Yes, in addition to being in good physical condition, it is mandatory to know how to swim to practice canyoning in Switzerland, except for the via ferrata. On the other hand, if you do not wish, for example, to make a jump or any other playful activity once in the canyon, the instructor can propose you other alternatives.
